Disclosure: I earn a commission if you buy through my links, at no extra cost to you. I'm a HighLevel affiliate myself, and that's why I can show you the portal from the inside.
The GoHighLevel affiliate program pays a recurring commission on every paying customer you refer, for as long as they stay. That part is easy to find. The part most reviews skip is how the money actually reaches you: the 45-day hold, the $50 minimum, Tipalti, and a set of rules that can cost you your commissions if you ignore them. I'm a HighLevel affiliate, so here's how the program works, how I joined, and what to watch out for.
Short version
- 40% recurring on the main HighLevel plans, every month the customer keeps paying.
- 5% on a second tier, for customers signed by affiliates you brought in.
- Paid on the 15th of the month after HighLevel receives payment, through Tipalti only.
- A $50 minimum, and the account you referred must stay in good standing for 45 days.
- Strict rules on disclosure, brand bidding, coupons and income claims.
What the GoHighLevel affiliate program is
It's HighLevel's own partner program. You get a referral link, you share it with people who might use the platform, and when someone signs up and pays, you earn a share of what they pay, month after month. HighLevel runs the tracking itself, with real-time stats in the affiliate dashboard and monthly payouts.
Alongside the link, HighLevel gives affiliates banners, copy and other marketing assets, plus dedicated affiliate support. The public affiliates page sums it up in three steps: apply and get dashboard access, share your link, and earn 40% recurring every month.

I promote HighLevel here on Upmish, so every number in this guide comes from HighLevel's official affiliate page, terms, program rules and help docs, not from my own earnings. HighLevel's rules don't allow income claims, and I'm not going to make any.
GoHighLevel affiliate commission rates
Tier 1: 40% recurring
The headline rate is 40% recurring. HighLevel's Affiliate Program Services Agreement lists the same 40% on each of these:
| Plan or upgrade | Tier 1 | Tier 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Single Location | 40% | 5% |
| Agency Unlimited | 40% | 5% |
| Agency Pro (SaaS) | 40% | 5% |
| White Label Mobile App upgrade | 40% (approved affiliates) | 5% |
The help doc gives its own example: refer someone to the $297 plan and you earn $118.80 every month they remain a customer. HighLevel's first steps guide names the $97, $297 and $497 plans as all paying 40%. If you want to see what each plan includes before you recommend one, the HighLevel pricing page lists them, and my GoHighLevel pricing guide explains what each plan really costs.

Tier 2: 5% on sub-affiliates
The second tier pays 5% monthly recurring on customers signed by affiliates you brought into the program. The terms list that 5% on the same four plans as tier 1. In the portal, these level 2 commissions show up on a Sub-Affiliates tab.
One detail from the help doc: active HighLevel affiliates are already added as sub-affiliates. So the second tier isn't something you set up separately. It comes from referring other people who then become affiliates.
How long commissions recur
For as long as the customer stays. HighLevel's help doc describes it as a monthly recurring commission for every paying customer, and its example is framed as every month they remain a customer. If they cancel, the commission stops. HighLevel also says in its terms that rates can change at its discretion, so check the current terms before you plan around them.
How GoHighLevel affiliate payouts work
This is where most affiliate reviews go quiet, and it's the part that matters most once referrals start coming in.

Payout date and the 45-day hold
Commissions are paid on the 15th of the month after HighLevel receives the customer's payment. If the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day. The help doc's example: commissions from September signups are paid on 15 October. It also warns that the money can take 24 to 48 hours to arrive after it's sent.
There's a catch in the terms, though. A commission only counts as earned if you have a usable payout account and the account you referred stays in good status for 45 days after the sale. Commissions are calculated on the fees HighLevel actually receives, less sales tax, and processing fees may be deducted.
Tipalti and tax forms
HighLevel pays affiliates through Tipalti, and only Tipalti. The help doc is blunt about it: affiliates can't be paid unless they use Tipalti. You set it up inside the Affiliate Portal under Payment Details, which I walk through below.
The terms say you may need to submit a W-8 or W-9 tax form, and that tax may be withheld for affiliates outside the US. Payouts are made in USD or in currencies the payout provider supports. One thing to know if you work in an agency with other admins: HighLevel notes that payment details are visible to agency admins.
The $50 minimum and the 120-day rule
You need at least $50 in combined commissions to get a payout. The rule that surprises people is the next one: if you stay under $50 for a 120-day period, the terms say those commissions are forfeited. So a single small referral that never reaches the threshold can simply disappear.
Refunds, chargebacks and trials
If a customer you referred gets a refund or files a chargeback, that amount is deducted from your future payouts. And trials don't pay. HighLevel tracks commission from the date the referral becomes a paying customer, not from the day their trial starts.
How referrals are tracked
Your affiliate ID comes from HighLevel's FirstPromoter portal at gohighlevel.firstpromoter.com, and that's what your link carries. When someone clicks more than one affiliate link, the terms say the last cookie generally wins. There are exceptions:
- Re-subscribes: someone who cancels and comes back within 90 days isn't treated as a new referral.
- Self-referrals: signing yourself up through your own link doesn't count.
- HighLevel's discretion: the terms leave HighLevel room to decide disputed cases.
The program rules add a related one on re-affiliation. If a customer cancels and re-subscribes under another affiliate within 30 days, HighLevel may deny that commission.

How I joined and set up my affiliate account
Everything here happens inside HighLevel, in the agency view, under Affiliate Portal in the left menu. These are the screens I went through.
Open the Affiliate Portal and accept the terms
- In your HighLevel agency view, click Affiliate Portal in the left menu.
- Look at the tabs across the top: Dashboard, Promoter Reports, Payment Details, Payment History, Invoice History and About.
- On the Dashboard, work through the four steps: Review the Affiliate Policy, Watch the Compliance Video, Download the Marketing Toolkit and Download the Compliance Flowchart.
- Tick I have read and accepted the Affiliate Policy.
- Click Accept Terms & Join Now.

Set up your payment details in Tipalti
- Open the Payment Details tab. It's powered by Tipalti.
- Set up 2-step verification first. Add your mobile number, click Send code and enter the code you get.
- Fill in your Address.
- Choose your Payment Method.
- Complete the Tax Forms, such as a W-8 or W-9.
- Finish at Done.

Don't skip this step. Remember the terms: a commission only counts as earned if you have a usable payout account, so set it up before your first referral pays.
Grab your link and assets
- Copy your referral link from the portal. It carries your affiliate ID.
- Download the Marketing Toolkit from the Dashboard steps for banners and copy.
- Keep the Compliance Flowchart handy and check new content against it.
- Add your disclosure line to the top of every page or video that uses the link.
Use the link exactly as HighLevel gives it to you. The program rules say not to modify it, and masked or redirected links are banned outright.
Track your referrals and payouts
- Use Promoter Reports to see your referral activity.
- Check Payment History after the 15th to confirm each payout.
- Use Invoice History for your payout records.
- Read the About tab when HighLevel updates the program.
The rules that get affiliates banned
HighLevel's program rules were last updated in June 2026, and they're stricter than most SaaS programs. Breaking them can cost you every commission you've earned, because the terms say a default means forfeiting them all.

- Disclose at the top. On a blog, the disclosure has to sit at the top of the post, before the main content, in plain words like "I earn a commission if you buy through my link". HighLevel says the words "affiliate link" on their own aren't enough. On YouTube, you need both an audible and an on-screen disclosure.
- No brand bidding. Without written consent, you can't bid on HighLevel's restricted terms in paid ads, including variations and misspellings. You also can't use its trademarks in ad copy or display URLs, link ads straight to HighLevel's site, or outrank HighLevel in ad positions 1 to 5.
- No HighLevel branding in your name. That covers domains, subdomains and social handles.
- No unauthorized offers. Discounts, coupons, promo codes, free trials and contests all need written authorization from HighLevel first.
- No income claims. No income guarantees and no "business in a box" pitches. Claims must be honest, based on your own experience, and kept current.
- No shortcuts. No spam, no self-referrals, no cookie stuffing, forced redirects, pop-ups, masked referrers, toolbars or browser extensions, and no sub-affiliate networks.
- The engagement call. After your second referred customer, you need a live call or an email exchange with HighLevel about your affiliate practices before more payouts are released.
That last one catches people off guard. It's not a penalty. It's HighLevel checking how you promote before the money keeps flowing, so answer it quickly.
The private trial link and custom landing page
From my own experience as an affiliate, the private 30-day trial link and a custom landing page aren't available on day one. In my experience, you need more than 100 active trials before they open up. That's what I've seen, not a rule HighLevel publishes, so treat it as a rough guide and ask HighLevel's affiliate support what applies to you.
Keep the rules above in mind here too. Trial offers need HighLevel's written authorization, so check with HighLevel before you mention one anywhere.
Is the GoHighLevel affiliate program worth it?
For the right person, yes. A 40% recurring commission that keeps paying for as long as the customer stays is a strong deal, and the 5% second tier is a small extra on top.
It suits you if you already talk to agencies, marketers or small business owners, and you actually use HighLevel. That last part matters, because HighLevel wants honest claims based on real experience, and readers can tell when you haven't opened the platform. My GoHighLevel review is a good example of the kind of content that works: what the platform does, who it's for and where it falls short.
It suits you less if you were hoping for quick money from paid ads. Brand bidding is off the table without written consent, coupons need authorization, and income screenshots break the rules. This is a program for people who build an audience and keep their content up to date.

Common questions
How much does the GoHighLevel affiliate program pay?
40% recurring on the Single Location, Agency Unlimited and Agency Pro (SaaS) plans, plus 40% on the White Label Mobile App upgrade for approved affiliates. HighLevel's own example is $118.80 a month for a customer on the $297 plan.
Is the GoHighLevel affiliate commission recurring, and for how long?
Yes. It's paid every month the customer you referred keeps paying HighLevel. If they cancel, the commission stops. HighLevel can change rates at its discretion, so check the current terms.
When and how are GoHighLevel affiliate commissions paid?
On the 15th of the month after HighLevel receives the payment, or the next business day if that's a weekend or holiday. Payouts go through Tipalti only, which you set up under Payment Details in the Affiliate Portal. The money can take 24 to 48 hours to arrive.
Is there a minimum payout?
Yes, $50 in combined commissions. If you stay under $50 for a 120-day period, HighLevel's terms say those commissions are forfeited. The referred account also has to stay in good standing for 45 days after the sale.
What is the 5% second tier?
You earn 5% monthly recurring on customers signed by affiliates you brought into the program. HighLevel shows these level 2 commissions on a Sub-Affiliates tab in the portal.
Do I need to be a HighLevel customer to join?
I joined from inside my own HighLevel agency account, through Affiliate Portal in the left menu. HighLevel's affiliate page also lets you apply from its website, and the terms list the Single Location rate as open to all HighLevel users.
Can I run Google Ads on GoHighLevel keywords?
Not without HighLevel's written consent. The terms ban bidding on its restricted terms, including variations and misspellings, using its trademarks in ad copy or display URLs, linking ads directly to its site and outranking it in ad positions 1 to 5.
Do I get commission during the free trial?
No. HighLevel tracks commission from the date the referral becomes a paying customer, not from the day their trial starts.
The verdict
The GoHighLevel affiliate program has generous terms: 40% recurring on the main plans for as long as the customer stays, and 5% on a second tier. Joining takes a few minutes inside the Affiliate Portal.
The fine print is what decides whether you get paid. Set up Tipalti before your first referral pays, know the 45-day hold and the $50 minimum, put your disclosure at the top, and stay away from brand bidding, unauthorized offers and income claims.
