Try GoHighLevel free for 30 days

Systeme.io vs GoHighLevel isn't a contest between two versions of the same tool. Systeme.io is a cheap all-in-one for people selling their own courses and digital products. GoHighLevel is a CRM and messaging platform built for agencies and service businesses. Both now advertise sub-accounts and white label, and that's where a lot of comparisons go wrong. This one uses each company's own pricing pages and help centres, adds real monthly costs at four business sizes, and says plainly who should pick which.

Short version

  • Systeme.io has a free plan that never expires. Paid plans run from $17 to $97 a month, with unlimited email on all of them.
  • GoHighLevel starts at $97 a month, plus usage for email, texts, calls, and AI. Contacts are unlimited on every plan.
  • Systeme.io now lists sub-accounts and a white label program on every plan, but with tighter rules than GoHighLevel.
  • GoHighLevel has two-way texting, calling, and a full sales CRM built in. Systeme.io sends one-way texts through your own Twilio account.
  • Solo creators and beginners should start on Systeme.io. Agencies and businesses that follow up by phone or text should pick GoHighLevel.

The short answer

If you're one person selling courses, coaching, or digital products, and email is how you follow up, Systeme.io is the better buy. Its free plan covers your first 2,000 contacts, three funnels, and a course, and the $17 Startup plan handles most small businesses after that. Our Systeme.io review covers its limits and rules in more depth.

If you run an agency, a local service business, or any sale where a lead needs a text or a call within minutes, GoHighLevel is worth the higher price. It puts texts, calls, and email in one inbox, tracks every deal in a pipeline, and lets you bill clients for what they use. Systeme.io doesn't try to do most of that.

Systeme.ioPick Systeme.io if
  • You're a solo creator, coach, or affiliate marketer
  • You want to start free and pay only as your list grows
  • Email is your main way of following up
  • You sell courses, digital products, or evergreen webinars
  • You want a tool you can learn in a weekend
GoHighLevelPick GoHighLevel if
  • You manage marketing for clients
  • You text or call leads and want the replies in one inbox
  • You track deals through a sales pipeline every day
  • You want review requests, booking, and missed-call text back together
  • You want to resell the platform with your own margin

What each platform is built for

Systeme.io was made for solo online businesses. One login gives you funnels, email marketing, courses, a blog, an affiliate program, and evergreen webinars. Plans are priced by contacts and by how many funnels, courses, and automations you can run, so the bill only rises when your business does.

GoHighLevel was made for marketing agencies. The agency account sits on top, and each client gets a sub-account with its own CRM, phone numbers, calendars, funnels, and automations. You pay a flat fee for the software, then usage for the messages you send, which agencies usually pass on to their clients.

What has changed on Systeme.io

Plenty of comparisons still describe an older Systeme.io. Its pricing page now lists CRM pipelines, workflows, a booking calendar, SMS through Twilio, and unlimited sub-accounts on every plan, including Free. It also runs a white label program and offers a public API and an MCP server for AI assistants. These are real features. They're also lighter versions of what GoHighLevel does, and the sections below show exactly where they stop.

One is sold to you. The other is built to be sold through you.

Pricing compared

Both companies price in US dollars, and both give two months free on annual billing. These are the current plans from each company's pricing page. You can compare all three GoHighLevel plans on GoHighLevel's pricing page.

Systeme.io gives you more room for the money. GoHighLevel gives you more ways to reach a lead. Which matters more comes down to whether your customers buy from an email or from a conversation.

The usage costs GoHighLevel adds

GoHighLevel's plan price covers the software. Messages come out of a prepaid wallet: about $0.675 per 1,000 emails, about $0.0075 per text segment in the US and Canada plus carrier fees, and $1.15 a month for each local number. Texting US numbers also needs A2P 10DLC registration, and the AI Employee adds $50 or $97 a month per sub-account if you switch it on. Every fee is listed in our GoHighLevel pricing guide.

Usage is charged during the trial as well, so a test campaign costs real money, even if only a few dollars.

Where Systeme.io's limits bite

Systeme.io adds no usage fees of its own, and email is unlimited on every plan. What rises instead is the count of things you can build. The free plan allows 1 automation rule, 1 email sequence, and 500 students. Startup allows 10 funnels and 10 automation rules, and Webinar allows 50 funnels. Most growing creators hit one of those caps before they reach the contact limit, so check the plan table against your own setup. Text messages cost extra too, but Twilio bills you for them, not Systeme.io.

Free plan or free trial

Systeme.io's free plan never expires and doesn't ask for a card. Its pricing FAQ says that if you cancel a paid plan later, the account drops back to Free and contacts above 2,000 are archived rather than deleted.

GoHighLevel has no free plan. The standard trial is 14 days, and HighLevel's Bootcamp offer stretches it to 30. Billing starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel, which our 30 day trial guide walks through. Annual billing saves two months on both platforms. Whether that's worth it on GoHighLevel is covered in annual vs monthly.

Check the current prices

Prices and limits here come from Systeme.io's and HighLevel's own pricing pages and help centres. Both companies change their plans from time to time, so confirm them on each site before you buy.

Price and free plan

Systeme.io is cheaper at every size and has a free plan you can actually run a business on.

What you'd actually pay

Sticker prices only tell half the story. These four examples add the usage you'd realistically pay each month. All figures are approximate and use US rates.

A solo creator with a small list

1,500 contacts, two funnels, one course, and a weekly newsletter, which comes to roughly 7,500 emails a month. No texting.

Systeme.ioGoHighLevel
PlanFree, or Startup once you need more than one automationStarter plus email usage
Approx. per month$0 to $17About $102 (about $86 on annual)

GoHighLevel would work here, but most of what you'd be paying for would sit unused.

A course creator with a growing list

8,000 contacts, three courses, an evergreen webinar, and about 40,000 emails a month.

Systeme.ioGoHighLevel
PlanWebinarStarter plus email usage
Approx. per month$47 (about $39 on annual)About $124 (about $108 on annual)

Both platforms host on-demand webinars, so neither needs an extra tool. Systeme.io's flat email pricing is what keeps it cheaper as the list grows.

A coach or local business that texts leads

3,000 contacts, one local number, about 1,500 text segments a month sent and received, and 6,000 emails.

Systeme.ioGoHighLevel
PlanStartup plus your own Twilio accountStarter plus phone and email usage
Approx. per monthAbout $37About $120

A2P registration fees apply on both, so they're left out of both totals. The gap looks big, but the two products aren't doing the same job here. Systeme.io sends texts from automations and has no inbox for replies, so you'd read those somewhere else. GoHighLevel keeps every text, call, and email in one conversation per contact, and a missed call can trigger an automatic text back. For a business that books work over the phone, that's usually worth the extra $80 or so.

An agency with five clients

Each client has about 3,000 contacts and sends 10,000 emails and 1,000 texts a month.

Systeme.ioGoHighLevel
PlanOne plan covers every sub-accountUnlimited, since Starter stops at three sub-accounts
Approx. per month$17 to $97 in total, plus each client's own Twilio bill$297, plus about $19 a client in usage you can rebill

Systeme.io's pricing page says each sub-account gets the same limits as your own plan at no extra cost. That makes it very cheap for keeping simple client projects apart. GoHighLevel works out at about $59 a client before usage, but what you get is something you can sell: clients have their own login, inbox, phone number, review requests, and reporting. On Unlimited you pass message costs straight to them, and on Agency Pro you can add your own markup.

Funnels, websites, and checkout

Both platforms build the pages most online businesses need: opt-in pages, sales pages, checkouts, thank you pages, websites, and blogs. Both include order bumps, one-click upsells, coupons, and A/B tests. GoHighLevel has a blog builder too, despite claims you may see that it doesn't.

Systeme.io counts these by plan. Free allows 3 funnels with one order bump, one upsell, and one A/B test. Startup raises that to 10 funnels and 10 bumps and upsells, Webinar to 50 funnels and 100 of each, and Unlimited removes the caps. It takes 0% of your sales and connects more payment gateways than most tools at this price, including Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Flutterwave, Mercado Pago, Xendit, and cash on delivery. Physical products with shipping are supported as well.

Order bumps sit on each order form step. Screenshot from our Systeme.io account.

GoHighLevel doesn't count funnels by plan. Its AI builder drafts funnel and website pages from a prompt and is free within fair use. Payments run through Stripe, PayPal, NMI, Authorize.net, Square, Adyen, Razorpay, and others, and it handles invoices and payment links, which service businesses tend to use more than checkout pages. If funnels are the main thing you're weighing, our GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels comparison goes deeper on the builder.

Funnels and checkout

Systeme.io is simpler and cheaper. GoHighLevel has no funnel caps and adds invoicing.

Email marketing

Email is where Systeme.io's pricing is hardest to beat. Every plan, Free included, sends unlimited emails, and newsletters are unlimited too. Automated sequences, which Systeme.io calls campaigns, are capped at 1 on Free, 10 on Startup, and 100 on Webinar.

GoHighLevel charges about $0.675 per 1,000 emails sent through its own email service. That's cheap for a small list and adds up for a big one: 500,000 emails a month would cost around $340. In return you get more control over deliverability, including a dedicated sending domain and an optional dedicated IP for $59 a month.

Email marketing

Unlimited sending on every plan. GoHighLevel offers more deliverability control, at a cost per email.

WinnerSysteme.io

CRM and sales pipelines

Systeme.io has a real CRM now: contacts, tags, and Kanban-style pipelines you drag deals through. The limits are tight for anyone who sells every day, though. Free gets 1 pipeline and 1 tag, Startup 5 pipelines and 10 tags, Webinar 20 and 100, and even Unlimited stops at 100 pipelines.

Systeme.io includes CRM pipelines even on the free plan. Screenshot from our Systeme.io account.

GoHighLevel is a CRM first. Pipelines, opportunities, custom fields, tasks, team calendars, custom dashboards, and a mobile app are all included, and contacts are unlimited on every plan. It also handles reputation management, so you can request Google reviews and reply to them from the same place. Systeme.io doesn't offer that.

CRM and pipelines

Systeme.io covers basic deal tracking. GoHighLevel is built for teams that sell all day.

WinnerGoHighLevel

SMS, calls, and conversations

This is the biggest gap between the two platforms.

Systeme.io sends text messages through Twilio. You open a Twilio account, paste its account SID and auth token into Systeme.io's integrations, then add a Send SMS step to an automation rule or workflow. Systeme.io adds no fee of its own. Twilio charges about $0.0083 per US text segment plus carrier fees, and $1.15 a month per number. Systeme.io presents SMS as a sending feature, and its own SMS page says a dedicated SMS tool may suit you better if you need two-way conversations. Calling and WhatsApp don't appear anywhere in its plan list.

Twilio card on the Systeme.io integrations page for connecting SMS
SMS in Systeme.io starts with connecting your own Twilio account. Screenshot from our Systeme.io account.

GoHighLevel has its own phone system. Each sub-account can buy its own numbers, send and receive texts, and make and take calls, and every message lands in one conversations inbox next to email and social messages. Missed-call text back is a standard automation. WhatsApp costs $10 a month per sub-account plus Meta's message fees, and AI agents can answer chats and calls for you. Our WhatsApp pricing guide has the per-country rates.

A2P registration applies either way

Texting US numbers from a regular 10-digit number needs A2P 10DLC registration on both platforms. With Systeme.io you register through Twilio. With GoHighLevel you register in its Trust Center, and our A2P 10DLC registration guide covers every field.

If texting leads is part of how you sell, take the GoHighLevel 30 day trial and run a few real conversations through it before you decide.

SMS and calls

GoHighLevel has two-way texting, calling, and one inbox. Systeme.io sends one-way texts through Twilio.

WinnerGoHighLevel

Automation and workflows

Systeme.io has two automation tools. Automation rules are simple triggers, such as tagging a contact who buys. Workflows are visual sequences that mix emails, delays, conditions, course access, and SMS steps. Both are counted: Free gets 1 of each, Startup 10 rules and 5 workflows, and Webinar 100 rules and 20 workflows.

GoHighLevel's workflow builder goes a lot further. Triggers come from every channel, including forms, calls, texts, pipeline changes, appointments, payments, and reviews, and actions can branch, wait, update records, call webhooks, or hand a conversation to AI. Snapshots let an agency copy a whole working setup into a new client account.

Automation

Systeme.io handles email-led sequences well. GoHighLevel automates every channel and copies setups between clients.

WinnerGoHighLevel

Courses, communities, webinars, and affiliates

Both platforms cover the creator basics. Systeme.io includes courses (1 on Free, 5 on Startup, 20 on Webinar, unlimited on Unlimited), communities, evergreen webinars from the Webinar plan up, and a built-in affiliate program on every plan. Free caps students at 500, and the paid plans don't cap them at all.

GoHighLevel includes courses and communities on every plan without published caps, plus live and on-demand webinar funnels. A branded client portal app is optional at $49 a month per sub-account. Our GoHighLevel communities guide shows the setup.

For a creator who sells through webinars and recruits affiliates, Systeme.io packages all of it more simply and for less. GoHighLevel doesn't publish course caps and keeps students in the same CRM as every other contact.

Courses, webinars, and affiliates

Systeme.io is simpler for webinar-led creators. GoHighLevel keeps students in the same CRM as every lead.

ResultDraw

Sub-accounts, white label, and reselling

Systeme.io now lists unlimited sub-accounts on every plan, Free included. Each one is a separate workspace with its own funnels, contacts, emails, and payment settings, and Systeme.io says each gets the same limits as your own plan at no extra cost. You switch between them from one dashboard and invite clients or assistants with admin or restricted access.

Its white label program is real too, and it's included with every plan. You run the platform on your own domain with your logo and colours, set your own prices, and keep all the revenue. The rules matter, though:

  • You can't charge less than Systeme.io's own price for the same plan.
  • What you can resell depends on your plan. Startup resells Startup, Webinar resells Startup and Webinar, and Unlimited resells everything. Free can only give away free accounts.
  • Clients sign up for a free account first and upgrade themselves. You can't upgrade them by hand from your dashboard.
  • Activation is permanent. Systeme.io's help centre says the white label can't be switched off once it's on, and the domain you pick is dedicated to it from then on.

So look around the reseller dashboard before you press Activate, and if you do go ahead, use a spare domain or subdomain, because it can't go back to hosting your normal funnels.

Sub-accounts page in a free Systeme.io account with one sub-account listed
Sub-accounts are available on the free plan. White label activation was not shown on this account. Screenshot from our Systeme.io account.

GoHighLevel was designed around agencies from day one. Starter includes 3 sub-accounts, and the $297 Unlimited plan removes the cap. Snapshots copy funnels, workflows, calendars, and pipelines into each new client. HighLevel's pricing page says agencies can white-label the web app, so clients see your logo and your domain when they log in. Agency Pro at $497 adds SaaS Mode: clients buy a plan on your website, their account is created automatically, and you can add a markup to their phone, email, and AI usage. A white label mobile app is a separate add-on at $497 a month.

White Label tab in GoHighLevel company settings with the brand logo upload area

The real difference is margin. On Systeme.io, the price floor and self-serve upgrades limit how you package and price an offer. On GoHighLevel you decide the price, what each plan includes, and the markup on usage, and you sell clients a service rather than a software login.

Agencies and white label

Systeme.io is the cheapest way to keep simple client projects apart. GoHighLevel is the one you can build an agency business on.

WinnerGoHighLevel

AI tools

Systeme.io has an AI Chat inside the app that creates funnels, funnel steps, and page content from a plain request, although its help centre says it can't edit existing funnel page content yet. There's also a public API and an official MCP server, so assistants like Claude or ChatGPT can create funnels, automation rules, and email campaigns in your account.

GoHighLevel's AI goes deeper and costs more. Funnel and website AI is free within fair use. Conversation AI replies to chats and texts, Voice AI answers calls, and Reviews AI drafts replies to reviews, either billed by usage or bundled into the AI Employee plans at $50 or $97 a month per sub-account. AI Studio builds sites and pages from a prompt, and HighLevel has an MCP server of its own, which you can connect to Claude.

AI tools

Systeme.io's AI helps you build faster. GoHighLevel's AI can answer your leads for you.

WinnerGoHighLevel

Ease of use

Systeme.io is easier, and it isn't close. Menus are short, the funnel templates are ready to use, and most people have a working opt-in page and email sequence on day one. Its weak spots come from the same simplicity: templates can look plain, design control is limited, reporting is basic, and the plan caps only show up when you hit one.

GoHighLevel takes longer. A new account means dozens of menus, a usage wallet, phone registration, and settings at two levels, agency and sub-account. HighLevel's live Bootcamp, ready-made snapshots, and our GoHighLevel tutorial for beginners shorten that first stretch.

What long-term users say

Read enough Reddit threads and a pattern shows up. People who use both tend to keep Systeme.io for their own simple projects and run client work on GoHighLevel. Systeme.io's critics say advanced users outgrow it, and a few mention editor glitches and slow support replies. GoHighLevel's users praise how many tools it replaces, then complain about a cluttered interface, a steep first few weeks, thin reporting, and usage charges they didn't see coming. Most agree it's overkill unless you need the CRM and the automation.

Learning curve

Systeme.io gets you live in days. GoHighLevel asks for a few weeks.

WinnerSysteme.io

Can one replace the other?

Can Systeme.io replace GoHighLevel? For a solo business that sells by email, yes, and for much less money. For an agency, or any business that runs on calls and texts, no. There's no shared inbox, no calling, and no way to mark up client usage.

Can GoHighLevel replace Systeme.io? Feature for feature, mostly yes. It has funnels, email, courses, communities, webinars, and payments. You'd just pay at least $97 a month plus email usage for a setup Systeme.io runs for free or $17.

What switching involves

Most people move in one direction. They start on Systeme.io and move to GoHighLevel when they take on clients or start selling by phone. Neither platform imports the other's funnels, so plan on rebuilding pages, re-uploading course videos, rebuilding email sequences as workflows, and exporting contacts as a CSV with their tags. If you'll text from GoHighLevel, start A2P registration early, because approval isn't instant. For a single business, a week or two of part-time work is realistic. Our Kajabi to GoHighLevel guide shows what a full move looks like.

Going the other way, export your contacts from GoHighLevel and rebuild in Systeme.io. Systeme.io offers free migration help on its Unlimited plan, and its agency page also mentions annual plans. Cancel GoHighLevel only once everything is live, and see how to cancel GoHighLevel for what to export first.

Common questions

Is Systeme.io better than GoHighLevel?

For solo creators and beginners, yes. Systeme.io is cheaper, easier to learn and starts free. For agencies and businesses that follow up by text or phone, GoHighLevel is better, because it has two-way texting, calling, a full CRM and tools for managing clients.

Is Systeme.io a cheaper alternative to GoHighLevel?

Yes, if you mainly need funnels, email and courses. Systeme.io runs from free to $97 a month with unlimited email, while GoHighLevel starts at $97 a month plus usage. It isn't a full replacement for an agency, since it has no shared inbox, no calling and no way to rebill client usage.

Which is cheaper, Systeme.io or GoHighLevel?

Systeme.io, at every size we looked at. A solo creator can pay nothing on its free plan, while the same setup on GoHighLevel costs about $100 a month. A five-client agency pays $17 to $97 in total on Systeme.io against $297 plus usage on GoHighLevel, although the two aren't offering the same features.

Does Systeme.io have a CRM?

Yes. It has contacts, tags and Kanban-style sales pipelines, plus a booking calendar. Pipelines are limited by plan, from 1 on Free to 100 on Unlimited. GoHighLevel's CRM goes further, with unlimited contacts on every plan, opportunities, custom fields and reporting dashboards.

Can Systeme.io send SMS like GoHighLevel?

Only partly. Systeme.io sends texts from its automations through your own Twilio account, which you pay separately. It doesn't have a two-way inbox or calling. GoHighLevel has its own phone system with two-way texting, calls and missed-call text back built in.

Does Systeme.io have white label like GoHighLevel?

Yes, on every plan, with limits. You can sell Systeme.io under your own brand, but not below Systeme.io's own prices, and clients upgrade their plans themselves. Activation is also permanent. GoHighLevel lets agencies white-label its web app, and its $497 Agency Pro plan adds SaaS Mode with your own plans and a markup on usage.

Does Systeme.io have sub-accounts for clients?

Yes. Systeme.io lists unlimited sub-accounts on every plan, including Free, and says each one gets the same limits as your own plan at no extra cost. GoHighLevel includes 3 sub-accounts on Starter and unlimited sub-accounts from the $297 Unlimited plan.

Does GoHighLevel have a free plan?

No. GoHighLevel has a 14 day free trial, or 30 days through HighLevel's Bootcamp offer. Usage such as texts and emails can be charged during the trial, and billing starts automatically when it ends unless you cancel.

Which is better for agencies?

GoHighLevel, for most agencies. Clients get a full CRM, inbox, phone system and reporting, and you can rebill their usage or, on Agency Pro, mark it up. Systeme.io suits lean agencies whose clients only need funnels and email, because one plan covers every client workspace.

Can I start on Systeme.io and move to GoHighLevel later?

Yes, and plenty of people do. Neither platform imports the other's funnels, so you export your contacts as a CSV and rebuild the pages, courses and email sequences. If you'll text from GoHighLevel, start A2P registration early.

The verdict

Systeme.io wins for solo creators, beginners, and anyone on a tight budget. The free plan is good enough to launch on, email is unlimited on every plan, and the price never goes above $97 a month.

GoHighLevel wins for agencies, local service businesses, and anyone whose sales depend on fast follow-up. Two-way texting, calling, a full sales CRM, and usage rebilling cost more, but they're the tools those businesses earn their money with.

Still undecided? Ask one question: will you text or call your leads, or run marketing for other businesses? If yes, take GoHighLevel's 30 day trial. If not, start on Systeme.io's free plan and upgrade when your list grows.
